Philippa Roberts


Philippa is an entrepreneur and a Chartered Waste Manager with 17 years’ experience in the resources and circular economy sector. She has worked with private and not-for-profit companies in developing new services and increasing their efficiency and effectiveness. She successfully raised £1million to start a new social enterprise in London that offered food waste collections to households in flats, being one of the first in the country to take this new holistic approach to service provision. Philippa has supported local and national government in environmental policy and practice. She has been running Low and Behold, an award-winning consultancy, since 2006. Low and Behold has worked on a number of Anaerobic Digestion projects with communities and the food and farming industry; circular economy strategies and engagement with the water industry and practical reuse and recycling projects with a number of large companies. Her most recent project is Binit, a newly established company operating in the circular economy that uses technology, behavioural insight and expertise to find solutions for easing the world’s growing waste problem. Philippa is also a Non-Executive Director of the BPR group, an environmental services company operating in London and South-East England, and the largest collector of food waste in London, and a Member of Glas Cymru, the parent company of Welsh Water and the only non-profit distributing water company in England and Wales.She has an MSc. in Environment and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
